A lifestyle of convenience at Rothwell
Margaret and Mathew
Pendergast were
delighted to find
everything they had
been looking for
within the amenities
and wide open spaces
at Rothwell.
Margaret and Mathew were
looking to settle into a peaceful
retirement after the maintenance
of their large family home was
exhausting their time and patience.
The couple were keen to downsize
in a brand-new home where they
could focus on visiting their kids
and grandchildren, whilst also
maintaining their active lifestyle.
“We go for walks nearly every
day, especially when we’re looking
after my son’s dog. We chose
Rothwell because we wanted to be
able to enjoy a stroll down to the
shops, or just amongst the beautiful
reserves,” said Margaret.
Eager to downsize, the couple
were looking for a place that offered
them accessibility to green open
spaces and transport links that
would simplify day-to-day tasks as
they move towards retirement.
“Because of our age, it’s
important that we’re able to get
around easily. Here we have the
shops, parks and train station
nearby, so it’s all very accessible for
us. I’d rather walk than drive my car
everywhere,” said Margaret.
Although Margaret has retired,
Mathew is still working, so it was a
priority for them to find a home that
wouldn’t extend his daily commute
from their previous location in
Albanvale.
“It’s just as easy for Mathew to
get to work from Rothwell given
its great access to the freeway. It’s
the same distance just in a different
direction. We looked at other estates
but they were just too far out,” said
Margaret.
“We’re close to our family, close
to nature and close to Mathew’s
work. We couldn’t ask for anything
better really.”
Having purchased a four-
bedroom, two-bathroom house,
Mathew and Margaret are looking
forward to hosting their family at
their new home in Rothwell.
Mathew and Margaret found everything they need to settle into a peaceful lifestyle at Rothwell.

and close to Mathew’s
work. We couldn’t ask for
anything better really.”
